Purchasing

Project Description

Purchasing has implemented a new web-based e-procurement system called CruzBuy. Information about the system, online tutorials, and information on turnaround time is available at the Purchasing web site. Each division will be provided customer training prior to their adoption of CruzBuy. The processes to be used until your division switches to CruzBuy are detailed at the Purchasing web site. The web site also includes on-line requisition forms to be used during the transition for various types of purchases.

Procurement procedures for consultant services, independent contractors, and temporary staff services has also changed. For more information, contact Nancy Nieblas at x9-3858.

Project Timeline

• After April 1, 2006, all campus purchases must be made using the CruzBuy system, or with a ProCard. The Transitional Pre-Requisition form will no longer be used.
• If you haven't been able to attend a demonstration of the CruzBuy system, demonstrations are available on a drop-in basis at Central Purchasing (2300 Delaware Avenue).
• An online Purchasing Ethics training will be rolled out to the campus mid-April. Every CruzBuy user will need to take and pass the course; users may take the course repeatedly until they receive a passing score.
