Dear Managers and Supervisors:

I recently sent you a letter informing you that the University Professional and Technical Employees union (UPTE) has filed a Petition for Certification for a bargaining unit of certain University of California administrative professional employees.

Attached is a document, "Supervisory Information — Union Organizing," to assist you in discussions about union organizing with your affected employees during the election period.

Informational meetings for managers and supervisors will take place on July 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and July 8 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Bay Tree Conference Room D. Please plan to attend one of these meetings for important information about the election process and managing your department and/or administrative professional employees during this time. Call the Labor Relations Office at 459-2017 to sign up for one of the sessions above.
