Research on wireless mobile networks by a team of UCSC engineers earned them a best paper award at a recent international conference on computer and telecommunication systems. The authors of the paper are Xianren Wu, a Ph.D. candidate in electrical engineering; Hamid Sadjadpour, associate professor of electrical engineering; and J. J. García-Luna-Aceves, Baskin Professor of Computer Engineering. Their paper, titled "Analytical Modeling of Link and Path Dynamics and Their Implications on Packet Length in MANETs," was presented at the 2007 International Symposium on Performance Evaluation of Computer and Telecommunication Systems (SPECTS), held in San Diego from July 16 to 18. The SPECTS'07 Wireless Mobile Networks Track Best Paper Award is sponsored by the Society for Modeling and Simulation International.
