UC Strike: May 26, 2005
UC Santa Cruz has prepared this page in an effort to keep members of the campus community informed about instruction, transportation, and other aspects of the campus operation impacted by the strike.

Stay informed:
In addition to updating this page as information warrants, the Public
Affairs Office will be recording strike-day information
on the campus's communications hotline, 459-INFO. Information
will also be relayed on a regular basis
to KZSC Radio (88.1 FM) for broadcast.

NEWS UPDATE:
4:00 p.m., Thursday: Picketers are present at each entrance to the campus.
People driving vehicles through the main and west gates are advised to drive very
slowly and carefully. Shuttle service is available throughout the day on the campus
side of the picket lines.

Interim Provost Kliger's message to the campus community includes expectations that offices be kept open, classes be taught, and the campus provide normal business services.

Contracts with UPTE and CUE are being negotiated through UC's Office
of the President.
