Administrative MessageNovember 3, 2009To: UCSC Community From: Larry Pageler, Director of Transportation & Parking Services Re: Meyer Drive Closure Thursday – SaturdayUCSC's Division of Graduate Studies is hosting the UC Fall 2009 Northern California Diversity Forum next Thursday through Saturday (November 5th through 7th). In order to accommodate this event, Meyer Drive will be closed between the road to Kerr Hall and the Music Center this Thursday and Friday (November 5th and 6th). Traffic heading to McHenry Library will be diverted through the Performing Arts parking lot. On Friday, the first section of the Performing Arts parking lot (closest to Meyer Drive) will be closed off for event preparations; signs will be posted all week with information about the closure. Any cars left in that section of the lot Friday morning will be towed at the owner's expense. There should be ample room left in the lot for those wishing to park there, and there are no expected impacts on the Core West Parking Structure. The Diversity Forum allows students to explore graduate opportunities and resources by participating in a recruitment fair, numerous workshops, and planned activities throughout the event hosted at UCSC. It will bring together approximately 1,200-1,500 students, staff, and faculty from Northern California colleges and universities, and recruiters from across the nation.
