Re: H1N1 Flu Shots at Merrill Cultural Center this Thursday 11/5/09

We are pleased to announce that we have sufficient H1N1 influenza vaccine for an additional H1N1 flu shot clinic this week. We will offer registered UCSC students under the age of 25, H1N1 flu shots this Thursday by reservation only.

Adults under 25 years of age are at higher risk for complications from H1N1 infections. This fall, two UCSC students have already been hospitalized with severe cases of pneumonia. Students living in residential settings are strongly encouraged to get immunized.

Consider getting a flu shot to lessen your chance of H1N1 infection and potential serious complications.

H1N1 Flu Shot Clinics is conveniently located at the following campus locations:

Thursday, November 5, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Merrill Cultural Center

Students may charge the $15 Administrative Fee to their student account or pay by check or cash. Blue Cross Anthem (USHIP and GSHIP) insurance plans will reimburse individuals for the cost of influenza vaccine administration as will many major insurance carriers.

Please make your online reservation by signing up at: www.maximhealthsystems.com/pickatime/?id=349

Additional H1N1 and seasonal flu shot clinics will be scheduled as vaccine becomes available. Unfortunately, ONLY REGISTERED UCSC STUDENTS with student identification who are under the age of 25 are eligible for vaccine at this time. Please check the www.ucsc.edu/flu web site for updates on future immunization clinics which will be scheduled when additional vaccine is delivered.
