Greenwood, Chancellor Re: The death of staff member Fran Crane It with much sadness that I write to inform you of the passing of Fran Crane, a longtime member of our on-campus community. Fran died this past Sunday in a Utah hospital; she had been injured three days earlier in a single-vehicle accident. Fran, who worked as an Administrative Records Assistant, Parking Enforcement Officer, and Parking Lot Maintenance Supervisor during her more than 28 years of service to UCSC, was doing what she loved at the time of the accident: participating in a transcontinental motorcycle ride. Among Fran's survivors are her husband, Walter Andrews of Scotts Valley. Plans for a local memorial service have not yet been announced. Please join me in remembering Fran and wishing sincere condolences to her family and many friends--both on and off this campus.
