Re: New director of Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action

After a search, spanning two years, Patricia Hiramoto has been selected as the new Director of Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Ms. Hiramoto, who joins the EEO/AA Office on April 3, 2000, received an M.S. in Counseling from CSU San Francisco in 1984, and an Ed.D. in Education from the University of California, Berkeley in 1995.

Prior to accepting the EEO Director position at UCSC, Ms. Hiramoto held a variety of administrative positions. Most recently, she worked at CSU Monterey Bay as the Director of Equal Employment Opportunity. Previously, Ms. Hiramoto served as Director of Student Services at Stanford from 1993 through 1996, and worked as the Special Assistant to the Vice-President for Administration and the Associate Director of Financial Aid during her tenure at CSU San Francisco.

In her role as EEO/AA Director at UCSC, Ms. Hiramoto will serve as the campus affirmative action officer and ADA compliance officer for employment, as well as head up efforts to improve the campus climate for diversity. Please join Human Resources in welcoming Ms. Hiramoto to the campus.
