January 31, 2000 To: Campus Colleagues From: Meredith Michaels, Associate Vice Chancellor, Planning and Budget Re: Staff changes in Planning and Budget Randy Nelson, director of Institution Research and Planning, has accepted a position at the University of Puget Sound. Please join me in wishing Randy congratulations and the best of luck in his new position, as well as thanking him for his many years of dedicated service to UCSC. Effective immediately, I am delighted that Kathleen Dettman has agreed to take on the oversight of staff and reports that have routinely been prepared by the IR office. Kathleen brings considerable experience to this area and we are quite fortunate. In addition, I am very pleased that Karen Eckert, Director of the Budget, has agreed to assume responsibility for the many ad hoc requests for data that we receive from Office of the President and the campus.
