Re: 'Infill Apartments' project set to begin

Construction work will begin later this week on the UCSC Infill Apartments Project. The project scheduled for completion in summer 2004, will provide a total of 652 student beds in 31 apartments at Cowell College, 28 apartments at Stevenson College, and 88 apartments at Porter College. Community rooms will be a part of the project at each college. Work on all three college sites will commence with the installation of site fences and job trailers.

Pedestrian access from Kresge to Porter through the Porter site will be maintained, as well as pedestrian access from Cowell/Stevenson in the direction of the East OPERS complex. Parking lot 147 at Kresge College and Lot 163 at Cowell will be unavailable to general campus use during the period of construction. These two lots contain a total of 47 parking spaces.
