Re: California Whistleblower Protection Act

UCSC FACULTY AND STAFF

Re: California Whistleblower Protection Act

New provisions of the California Whistleblower Protection Act (Government Code Sections 8548.2 and 8548.3) require the University to post notices regarding the Act and to provide all employees who have UC authorized access to e-mail with a copy of the notice.

The notice, which may be found at http://www2.ucsc.edu/hr/whistleblower.pdf, includes information on what to report, where to report, how to report, a statement on protection from retaliation for whistleblowing, and a statement from the State Auditor’s Office regarding the activities of that agency. The UCSC campus Procedures for Reporting Improper Governmental Activities and Protection Against Retaliation for Reporting Improper Activities can be found on the web at http://www2.ucsc.edu/comp/policies/whistleb.htm.

If you have any questions, please call any of the offices listed on the notice.

Sincerely,

Barbara J. Brogan
Interim Assistant Vice Chancellor
Academic Human Resources

Willeen McQuitta
Director
Staff Human Resources

Executive Vice Chancellor/Campus Provost Simpson
