Re: IMPTS Transition and Reporting
After 38 years with UCSC, IPMTS Director Paul Molfino will be retiring April 30, 2003. Paul was one of the first employees hired on campus and he has had a distinguished career. We are tremendously grateful to Paul for his years of dedicated service to the campus and his presence will be sorely missed by so many who have the pleasure of coming in contact with him on a regular basis.
Due to the current state of the budget, and in an attempt to take every opportunity to realize savings and use existing resources, I am writing to inform you of my intention not to immediately replace the Director of IPMTS, but instead, to realign the unit under Materiel Management Director Lisa Rose. This realignment will be effective May 1, 2003 through June 30, 2004, and will be reviewed for extension at that time. Director Rose has demonstrated effective direction and leadership to the Materiel Management Unit, and I am confident of her abilities to assume the Acting IPMTS Director position.
Paul Molfino truly represents a part of UCSC history, and his legacy will be part of the campus forever. We are sad to see him go, but wish him all the best in his well deserved and hard earned retirement.
