Re: Two New Appointments in CHDCCS

Associate Vice Chancellor Jean Marie Scott invites you to join her in welcoming Alma Sifuentes as Director of Residential and Dining Services and Sue Matthews as Director of Business and Support Services for the Colleges, Housing, Dining and Child Care Services.

Alma Sifuentes will begin her new position on October 1 and is joining CHDCCS from Stevenson College where she has served as College Administrative Officer since 1994. Alma earned a BA in Economics from UCSC and an MA in Public Policy Studies from Duke University. Alma has over eleven years experience in higher education administration with work in student life, retention, student development, student leadership and academic success. Alma also brings to the position seven years experience in administration of residential life and dining services in a university setting. In addition to Alma's involvement with UCSC campus committees, she has been named to the inaugural Board of Directors for the new St. Francis Central Coast Catholic High School in Watsonville, furthering her commitment to bringing the dream of higher education to our community high schools.

Sue Matthews will also begin her new position on October 1 and is joining CHDCCS from Crown College where she has served as College Administrative Officer since 1999. Sue earned her BS in Business Administration from San Diego State University, an MA in Social Sciences from Azusa Pacific University. Sue is in the process of earning her Doctorate in Philosophy and Education from Claremont Graduate University. Sue has over twelve years experience in higher education administration Sue also brings to the position experience in administration financial management, residential life, marketing, contracts and assignments as well as information technology and summer conference operations in a university setting. In addition to Sue's involvement with UCSC campus committees, she has served as a participant and leader in regional and national associations, most recently as immediate past President of Western Association of College and University Housing Officers Executive Committee and served as Co-Chair of the 2001 Western Association of College and University Housing Officers Annual Conference.
