Re: Invitation from the Chancellor

Dear Colleagues,

Dr. Rita Colwell, Director of the National Science Foundation, will be our special guest this Friday, June 21 to dedicate the new Center for Adaptive Optics. Please Note that her 1:30 address on "NSF's Investment in Converging Frontiers" has been moved to Earth & Marine Sciences B206.

Again, I encourage you to join me for this important presentation and the dedication ceremony at 3 p.m. Dr. Colwell's lecture is a rare opportunity to gain a national perspective on research trends in many fields, and to learn about the thinking that is guiding some of the most important research funding in our country. As well, the dedication celebration of this important new research center is a major campus milestone and a reason for us all to celebrate.

Here is a more detailed schedule for the afternoon. I hope to see you there.
