Re: Passing of Lionel Cantú

While some of you may already have learned of this over the Memorial Day weekend, I am writing to share the very sad news of the passing of UCSC faculty member Lionel Cantú.

An assistant professor in our Sociology Department, Lionel died unexpectedly on Sunday. He was only 36.

A memorial service has been scheduled for today (Tuesday, May 28) at noon at Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz.

Please join me in expressing condolences to the many people Lionel touched in his too-short life.
