Re: 2002 Transportation Survey -- ON-LINE

Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) is currently conducting the annual UCSC Transportation Survey on-line for all faculty, staff, and students. Please go to http://www2.ucsc.edu/taps to participate. The 2002 UCSC Transportation Survey is a short (7 questions) survey regarding travel patterns of campus affiliates designed to help campus transportation planners develop more programs to better serve the transportation needs of the campus community. Everyone who completes a survey is eligible for one of five $100 cash prizes.

We would like to request your support by completing the survey yourself, and also ensuring that all faculty, staff and students participate so our data is as accurate as possible. Please be sure that all in your department are aware of the survey and encourage them to complete it. For those staff members that do not have on-line access, please contact the TAPS office at ext. 9-2190 and a paper version of the survey will be sent immediately.

This is the third annual Transportation Survey for the campus. In response to the Mitigation Measures for the Core West Parking Structure, TAPS is required to monitor travel patterns for the campus community. This survey, started in 2000, gathers information on how individuals travel to/from campus each day for a one-week period. This information is key for TAPS staff to develop more programs and projects to provide viable solutions to the various transportation concerns the campus community is facing. Results of past surveys are also available at http://www2.ucsc.edu/taps.
