March 11, 2002 To: UCSC campus phone users From: Ed Titus, Telecommunications Manager, Communications and Technology Services Re: UCSC incoming calls blockedThis morning at around 9 a.m., Communications and Technology Services notified PacBell of a problem with incoming calls not arriving at UCSC over PacBell service. We are able to make outbound calls with no problem, but incoming calls are mostly blocked. PacBell is responding to the problem and has given it the highest level of priority. We have also notified our telephone switch vendor. Both PacBell and the telephone switch vendor are currently working on this issue, but have not yet determined the cause of the problem. We do not have an estimated time for resolution. We will inform the campus by e-mail when we have an update on this situation. We apologize for the inconvenience this problem may be causing you and thank you for your patience in this matter.
