The AFSCME union has called off a strike that had been announced for June 4-5. There may, however, be non-strike activities, such as informational pickets, on UC campuses during the week of June 2-6. UC Santa Cruz has prepared this page in an effort to keep members of the campus community informed about transportation and other aspects of the campus operation that could be impacted by non-strike activities.

University of California officials provide an update on contract negotiations between the UC and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) concerning UC patient care technical and service employees (June 2, 2008). [Read press release | Read bulletin]
University of California officials and representatives of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union have jointly announced that they will be returning to the bargaining table to continue negotiations for new labor contracts for the more than 20,000 UC patient care and service workers that AFSCME represents (May 29, 2008).
