Michael Moore to speak on October 19
Academy
and Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and best-selling author Michael
Moore has been added to the UCSC Arts & Lectures schedule.
Moore will speak on Sunday, October 19, at 7 p.m. at Santa Cruz Civic
Auditorium, 307 Church St., Santa Cruz.
Subscription tickets will not be available for this special presentation.
Tickets for this event are available to A&L members during the early
ticketing period from August 1-31 through the UCSC Ticket Office.
Starting September 2, tickets go on sale to the general public through
the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium Box Office, (831) 420-5260, or Ticketmaster,
(408) 998-8497. A&L membership information is available online.

Pastry chef teaching cooking class
Local pastry chef Gardner Lund will be featured in the second in a series of family cooking events in the Life Lab garden classroom from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 24. The program is in collaboration with the UCSC Center for Agroecology & Sustainable Food Systems.
The cost is $25 for adults, $10 for children. To make reservations, call
