Tahmeena Faryal, a member of RAWA's Foreign Affairs Committee, arrived
recently in the U.S. to urge the American people and government not to
turn their backs on the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan. Faryal is traveling
to various cities to convey RAWA's standpoints and concerns to the public,
aid organizations, community groups, and government entities. A minimum donation of $10 is suggested. Plan to arrive one hour early for a security check. The Rio Theater is located at 1205 Soquel Ave. in Santa Cruz. New members sought for Staff Advisory Board
The Staff Advisory Board (SAB) is looking for nominations for new members. There will be six openings on the 11-member board beginning July 1. The term of membership is three years. The time commitment is one meeting
per month, occasional special meetings or events, and 15-20 hours of volunteer
work on the part of each member throughout the year. Print out the nomination form
(pdf file), fill it out, and return it to: Sandy Schmidt, Science &
