Educational Fee Waiver
UCSC staff members have an opportunity to participate
in an anecdotal survey about the proposal of a UC-wide educational fee waiver program,
in order to accurately reflect the concerns of UC staff members. The data is being
collected by CUCSA. Please read the background information and then offer your responses
to the questions appearing at the following website:
http://orpheus.ucsd.edu/sa/feewaiver.html
Once CUCSA receives the final data, the results will
be published on UCSC's local Staff Advisory Board website:
http://sab.ucsc.edu/
or interested people may visit the CUCSA website:

Background: UC is considering an educational fee waiver program to benefit dependents of UC employees (as defined in UC's health benefit program), who have been admitted to a University of California campus. This program would waive the UC educational fee for dependents of vested, career employees. During the 1999/2000 academic year, there were approximately 1,900 dependents of UC staff and faculty attending a UC.
The Council of UC Staff Assemblies (CUCSA) is sponsoring the anecdotal survey. CUCSA supports the mission of UC and endeavors to promote communication among staff and with the Administration and other members of the University community on matters of interest to staff employees, in accordance with California laws and Regental policy.
The Council's constituency is understood to be staff employees of the University. The Council is involved in matters of interest or concern to those not exclusively represented and may advise on matters not within the scope of representation for those exclusively represented.
