Faculty, students engaged in numerous water research projects
In the Spring 2014 issue of the UC Santa Cruz Review magazine, the work of UCSC researchers Brent Haddad, Ruth Langridge, and Andy Fisher is featured.
Anticipating future water crises, the trio and their students have been working on options — from conservation to recycled water to the creation of water reserves.
Ruth Langridge also participated in the UC drought summit on April 25 at the state Capitol. The summit convened experts from across the UC system to discuss impacts and implications of one of the most severe droughts on record. A standing-room-only crowd of about 300 people attended the UC Davis-organized event. Speakers from eight UC campuses — Santa Cruz, Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, UCLA, Merced, Riverside, and San Diego — participated.
