Alison Galloway
Vice Provost for Academic Affairs
The Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Alison Galloway, is among the principal academic advisors to the Campus Provost, and her office is responsible for campus academic administration, including coordination and implementation of campus academic planning, review of academic programs, resource allocation, and academic personnel processes. Within each of these general areas, the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs has the following specific responsibilities:

Academic Planning: |
Provides leadership in overall campus academic planning; evaluates proposals for new programs; and chairs UCSC's Academic Planning Committee. |

Program Review: |
Oversees external review of campus academic programs. |

Resource Allocation: |
Advises the Campus Provost on faculty positions and other resource allocations; assists in the planning and budget process for authorization of new FTEs (Full Time Employees); and consults on reallocation of resources in response to external reviews, new program requirements, and other needs. |

Academic Personnel: |
Works with Academic Senate and other appropriate campus organizations to improve the academic personnel process; if requested by the Campus Provost, will evaluate faculty promotions, appointments, and other personnel matters; and, as needed, will represent the Campus Provost to the Senate Committee on Academic Personnel. |
