Over the course of the last several years, our senior leadership team has been developing a strategic academic plan for the campus—one that sets the course for an exciting and bold academic future.
UCSC truly is a distinguished research university committed to high-quality undergraduate and graduate education. Even in today’s stressful economic climate, the future for UC Santa Cruz is bright and promising—and our ongoing accomplishments demonstrate our ability to continue our progress.

Two-year goals plan submitted
Chancellor Blumenthal submitted UCSC's two-year goals plan to UC President Mark Yudof.
Updates on the 2008-09 & 2009-10 UC and campus budgets
Budget update from the Campus Provost; Provost Kliger and Chancellor Blumental address the potential impact of State budget cuts to UC and UCSC; and a web site with the latest budget news and documents, presentations, and campus messages relating to the 2008-09 and 2009-10 UCSC and UC budgets.
Research funds available from federal stimulus package
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act provides an unprecedented opportunity to obtain federal research funds to help stimulate the economy. A web page is now available to assist members of the UC Santa Cruz community as they explore opportunities for funding as a result of the stimulus bill.
Strategic Academic Plan updated
The February 2008 plan lays out choices that UC Santa Cruz must make as it continues to evolve its academic programs. In addition to articulating the principles upon which decisions will be based, it describes six interdisciplinary themes designed to facilitate collaboration between departments and programs. [More]
Campus Provost makes available two new campus resource documents
In a continuing effort to make the campus's budget process more transparent, the Campus Provost and the Office of Planning and Budget have posted two new resource documents. The UCSC Budget Handbook - An Overview of Funds Supporting UCSC refines and clarifies the campus's operating budget processes and the principles by which resources are allocated and The UC Santa Cruz Budget - A Bird's Eye View provides an overview of the campus' budget.
